ART AS A REVELATION

FROM THE LUIGI AND PEPPINO AGRATI COLLECTION

UNTIL 19 AUGUST 2018

GALLERIE D'ITALIA - PIAZZA SCALA | MILAN, ITALY

Unseen by the public until today, this visionary collection, established in the late 1970s by leading industrialists Luigi and Peppino Agrati, includes 500 works by eminent figures in Italian and international art from the second half of the 20th century. The donation of the collection to Intesa Sanpaolo was a landmark contribution to the bank’s international artistic patrimony.

Art as a Revelation is the first-ever opportunity for the public to experience a representative selection of artworks from this stunning ensemble. The lynchpin of the exhibition is an exceptional group of sculptures by Fausto Melotti, followed by major works of Vincenzo Agnetti, Alighiero Boetti, Alberto Burri, Luciano Fabro, Dan Flavin, Lucio Fontana, Piero Gilardi, Yves Klein, Jannis Kounellis, Joseph Kosuth, Piero Manzoni, Mario Merz, Bruce Nauman, Giulio Paolini, Robert Rauschenberg, Mario Schifano, Richard Serra, Cy Twombly and Andy Warhol.

Gallerie d’Italia is Intesa Sanpaolo’s museum complex, showcasing a selection of over 20,000 works from the bank’s collection at its three sites in Milan, Naples and Vicenza.
