PoliNations is a garden of magical proportions featuring 11 metre-high architecturally designed trees and planting that will take over the centre of Birmingham, one of the UK’s most multicultural, creative and green cities in an explosion of colour this September.
This celebration of cultural diversity, presented through the lens of British horticulture, is inspired by the fact that the majority of plants in UK city gardens come from overseas. Across two spectacular long weekend festivals, a community planting weekend, and a daily programme of inspiring activity, PoliNations features artist commissions by emerging and internationally renowned artists, talks, workshops, garden tours, and performances spanning live music, spoken word, dance, and drag. All events are free.
PoliNations is part of UNBOXED: Creativity in the UK, a celebration of creativity taking place in 2022, featuring ten major multi-site and digital creative projects that share new ideas and possibilities for the future.
