Dedicated to Julio Le Parc (1928–2026) and organized in collaboration with the artist and his Atelier, this exhibition brings together more than 60 works spanning his remarkable 70-year career. It showcases his lifelong commitment to transforming viewers from passive observers into active participants through optical illusions, sensory experiences, and physical interaction.
After moving from Argentina to Paris in 1958, Le Parc developed geometric abstract works based on repetition and mathematical principles, creating visual effects that appear to shift, vibrate, and move. The exhibition also features his celebrated luminokinetic works, including Light Boxes and Continual Light Mobiles, which combine light, motion, and reflective materials to produce constantly changing visual experiences.
Many of these works rely on the presence and movement of the audience, emphasizing their role in bringing the artwork to life. Interactive installations further invite direct engagement through touch, manipulation, and play. The exhibition concludes with Le Parc’s exploration of color, from his earliest experiments in 1959 to his most recent paintings and sculptures, highlighting his enduring fascination with perception, movement, light, and viewer participation.
