António Saint Silvestre and Richard Treger’s private collection of international Art Brut is one of the most extensive in the world and the Museum Gugging, in collaboration with the Centro de Arte Oliva (São João da Madeira, Portugal), is bringing this exceptional collection to Austria for the first time.
The exhibition includes, alongside works by Maria Gugging, a selection of around 150 other works by 80 artists from Brazil, Cuba, India, Iran, Ivory Coast, Paraguay, Uruguay, or Senegal by renowned artists, such as Aloïse Corbaz, Henry Darger and Adolf Wölfli, as well as younger ones like Kostia Botkine, Misleidys Castillo Pedroso and Sébastian Ferreira. The Treger Saint Silvestre Collection also holds works by Artists from Gugging, such as Laila Bachtiar and Philipp Schöpke, among others.
