A new online NFT platform dedicated to museums and art institutions is being launched in partnership with the British Museum on 30th September 2021. LaCollection.io will feature an NFT store with a selection of 200 NFT works by Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849). On the same day, an exhibition presenting around 100 original works by the world-famous Japanese artist will open at the British Museum.
The NFT programme will include iconic works by Hokusai such as Under the Wave off Kanagawa, also known as The Great Wave, along with lesser-known works and fascinating drawings produced for an illustrated encyclopedia called The Great Picture Book of Everything.
Some NFTs will be sold at fixed prices, others will be sold by auction. Collectors and newcomers alike will be able to simply visit LaCollection.io, choose from the range of Hokusai NFTs and complete their purchase by credit card or by using the cryptocurrency Ether.
