Following the strong results enjoyed by its design masterpieces auctions in 2017, Sotheby's is excited to announce its upcoming design sale on 3 May.

The sale will feature iconic creations and lesser-known—yet major—works by Pierre Chareau, Jean Dunand, Emile Gallé, Alberto Giacometti, Diego Giacometti, Claude Lalanne, Serge Mouille, Alexandre Noll, Eugène Printz, Jean Royère, Jacques Ruhlmann and Henri Van de Velde, together with a collection of mirrors by Line Vautrin.

Highlights include an iconic drawing table commissioned by Karl Lagerfeld and designed by François-Xavier Lalanne in 1964; a rare 6x6 demountable house by Jean Prouvé, built between 1944-1946; and a remarkable group of objects from the former collection of the Maharajah of Indore, including works by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand and Eckart Muthesius.
