19 NOVEMBER 2014 – 19 APRIL 2015
MUSÉE COGNACQ-JAY | PARIS, FRANCE |
In celebration of its reopening, the Musée Cognacq-Jay, home to a collection of emblematic 18th century artworks, has offered designer Christian Lacroix a creative carte blanche. |
Renowned for his collaborations with museums, Christian Lacroix has accepted the dual challenge of reimagining the “guiding narrative” of the museum’s exhibition spaces while exploring a concept that has shaped his own approach to art – the fascination exerted by 18th century. |
The exhibition includes contributions from over 40 contemporary artists whom Lacroix has invited to reflect upon ten key themes present throughout Ernest Cognacq’s collections, all with a view to enhancing our understanding of the Age of Enlightenment and its continued relevance to our own era. |
