Giorgio Andreotta Calò
CITTÀDIMILANO

Pirelli HangarBicocca | Milan, Italy
14 February - 21 July 2019

Pirelli HangarBicocca presents CITTÀDIMILANO, a solo show by Giorgio Andreotta Calò, curated by Roberta Tenconi.

CITTÀDIMILANO combines Calò’s earlier works with more recent pieces which are the result of his long researches into the history of Pirelli. This brings to light unpublished narratives of the past linked to the city of Milan, but related to themes and places already present in the work of the artist.

Giorgio Andreotta Calò (Venice, 1979) is one of today’s most remarkable Italian contemporary artists, representing Italy at the 57th Venice Biennale in 2017. His works include sculptures, large-scale environmental installations and architectural interventions. Calò's work transform fragments of buildings or entire landscapes through the use of natural elements and atmospheric agents. His work uses water, light and fire as a material to create dense symbolic meanings.
